Poem for Jonah

Brendan White

Another year you know is warmer.
The sun, while it loiters, is green.
I was born in a leafy corner
Of the death machine.

The clients loved me, I did good work.
The office park was beautiful.
My all-time favorite perk
Was the toy cubicle.

Property serves for insulation.
Be careful how you grouse.
If not for the evil inclination
No man would build a house.
